1990
The origin of the name TEDOM - then the name of a firm owned by ing. Josef Jeleček. The beginning of work on the project "Small domestic heating plant with a combustion engine running on natural gas". This project is supported by the then Czech Ministry of Local Development with a grant of 170 thousand CZK and a repayable loan of 140 thousand CZK. Work begins on the construction of the first cogeneration unit, the TEDOM MT 22.
1991
In Třebíč the TEDOM company s.r.o. is founded, and the TEDOM project is taken over by them. The firm's major activities involve the development, manufacture and sale of cogeneration units with gas piston combustion engines. The first TEDOM MT 22 cogeneration unit is put into operation.
The VKS s.r.o. company is set up in Hořovice, independently of the TEDOM company.
1992
On the basis of our experience with the first unit, three further TEDOM cogeneration units are manufactured under the MT mark and with an output of 22 kW, and are delivered to customers.
1993
Cooperation begins with VKS Hořovice on a contractual basis. This firm becomes the manufacturer of the mechanical parts of cogeneration units, while TEDOM remains the manufacturer of electrical parts, commerce and regional servicing. The first two TEDOM MT 130A cogeneration units are produced, with electrical output of 130 kW and with LIAZ engines; production of the TEDOM MT 22A continues.
1994
Beginning of the build-up of the holding company. It is established as a 100% subsidiary company of TEDOM with the title Třebíčská tepelná společnost s.r.o. (TTS) as the successor to PBH Třebíč. The company arranges to rent the heating-energy system for the town of Třebíč, which starts to run. The number of manufactured cogeneration units reaches 50.
1995
Sales accelerate and the total number of cogeneration units installed passes the 100 mark. The VKS s.r.o. company and TEDOM share capital by the mutual exchange of parts of shares between the previously-existing partners TEDOM and VKS. The VKS s.r.o. is renamed TEDOM-VKS s.r.o. and therefore becomes a part of the future TEDOM holding group.
Manufacturing starts of a new 22 kW output cogeneration unit with the name Premi. At the same time a series of MT units is innovated, and which now bears the name Cento. Together with the firm EKOL Brno the TENERGO Brno a.s. company is set up to conduct the operation of heating-energy systems in Slovakia.
